Tampa's Silent Assassin

“An idle mind is the devil’s playground,” is a quote that the elders have engrained in me since I was a child. This time it resulted in great fruit; I’m speaking of Damion (DJ Swift) Williams, who has become a super-producer. Many might not know the Hillsborough High School graduate, but they know his hits. They’re played on the radio constantly. He’s worked with some of the biggest artists out now like Kodak Black, NBA Youngboy, Moneybagg Yo, etc.

Swift started making beats out of frustration with his current job. He was working at McDonald’s and realized he didn’t want to spend the rest of his life flipping burgers. Some would consider his next action crazy or bold, but he quit his job to pursue music full time. Swift marketed his beats on YouTube to propel his music career. A famous rapper by the name of OJ Da Juiceman was the first major celebrity contact he had, which gave him the opportunities to network with other important producers.

He’s a silent assassin because he moves in a very low-key fashion, while having billboard hits and RIAA plaques. He lives in total obscurity which makes him an anomaly in his industry. There’s a facade in the hip hop industry that everyone is super flashy and does drugs; Swift, however, is in his own lane. He is a pretty laid back guy who just loves to make good music, and hang out with his friends.

He just dropped a new project called “Project Swift,” which features his artist, Project Youngin. Youngin is a St.Petersburg native that has been making a killing in the music game lately. He also just made two tracks with NBA Youngboy, and iam24heavy.  If you want to follow him for inspiration, or live vicariously through him, his socials are DJswift813. For  those who would like to purchase beats and graphics, his website is djswift813.
