RIP John Witherspoon

Black Hollywood is heartbroken today after the loss of John Witherspoon. This man was considered everyone’s uncle especially for his iconic roles in classic cult black films like Friday, Boomerang, I Got the Hook Up, Boondocks, The Wayans Bros and countless others.  He left us with iconic quotes like “You win some, you lose some, but you live to fight to live another day”. This has to be the most famous monologue ever.    Witherspoon’s death hurts immensely but look at all the classics he left us with. He never retired this man worked until his death. Rest in power Mr. Witherspoon.

Gabby and D.Wade

Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade have been considered couple goals for quite some time now.  These two bounced back from their marriages which is pretty commendable. Jay-z VS Everybody

Ever since that picture of Jay-z sitting down with Roger Goodell hit the net, people have gone ape shit.  Excuse the language of that last sentence, but this article is going to be my most vocal piece. I’ve tried to refrain from touching on this subject; except everyone is talking about it! Everyone has an opinion and people are pissed! There are some people who support Jay-z because they know that, in order to evoke change, you have to sit with the devil.    People are really missing the bigger picture of the issues at hand. Emotions are raging right...

Simone Samuels Makes Another Splash

Here's a dose of Black girl magic for you, Simone Samuels defended her title in the 100-meter freestyle. She managed to set a new All- American record when she won. This happened at the FINA World Championship in Gwangju, South Korea. When Samuels won she became the second woman to achieve this feat and the first African-American woman to win an individual Olympic gold medal in swimming.  Samuels has been using her platform since she's won to lower the high drowning rate within the black community. This is a sport that I did in high school, so I'll be rooting...
